January--☀ Durmstrang Board of Governors moves to deny all muggleborns access to Durmstrang. In a contentious battle, Representatives from Denmark, Sweden, Poland, and Northern France refuse. Germany, Russia, and many smaller Eastern European states are able to force the measure through in April. April--☀ Muggleborns currently enrolled at Durmstrang are expelled November--☀ German muggleborns barred from emigration outside of Germany. April--☀ Beauxbatons, in defiance of Durmstrang’s move to deny muggleborns entrance, extends its coverage of European students to include disenfranchised muggleborns. Carriage routes are set up through France, Italy, and Poland, to avoid going through German territory. 1 September--☀ Grindelwald sends his DMLE to Poland to stop the travelling coaches bringing muggleborns to Beauxbatons under the guise of defending the statute of Secrecy. DMLE officers use brute force to stop carriages when official paperwork fails. Muggleborn children are either displaced from the carriage, obliviated and left to their own devices, or injured/ killed in attempts to stop the carriages. This happens to coincide with the date muggle Germany invades Poland. 3 September--☀ French Ministry of Magic appeals to the British Ministry for aid. Minister for Magic Leslie Anderly is reluctant to get involved in what seems to be a singular battle between France and Germany. 3 September--✒ Muggle Britain declares war on Germany. 15 November--Anderly expresses a severe threat that if Germany does not withdraw from Poland, magical Britain may have to do the same. The Scandanavian Ministry of Magic declares neutrality. On the same day, he makes a speech on the WWN promising to do all in his power to keep Britain out of war. February--British Ministry of Magic passes a limit on the number of muggleborn emigrés it will accept in response to the ever increasing number of petitions from European muggleborns. April--Tinderblast broom by Ellerby and Spudmore released. Sales are low as a German broom is viewed as suspect during a war with a German wizard. April--Britain, spurred on by the successes at Durmstrang, begins discussions to exclude muggleborns from Hogwarts, however, ideological differences place discussion at an impasse. April--☀ German, Russian, and Scandanavian Ministries of Magic form and alliance against French forces. May--The British DMLE, entirely unofficially, begins sending aide to France when a squadron of six aurors and two hitwizards all put in for simultaneous sick leave. Justus Pilliwickle, typically a notorious stickler for rules, grants them leave with pay. July--☀ French Ministry of Magic falls to Germany September--✒ Muggle German bombing of muggle Britain intensifies. Many wizards are both directly and indirectly affected by this. 7 November--Leslie Anderly disappears. An international search begins. Mark MacMillan named de facto Minister for Magic. MacMillan takes a much more aggressive stance with the war on the continent 12 November--☀ German Ministry of Magic officially disavows any knowledge of Anderly’s disappearance. Gellert Grindelwald is quoted on record as saying “perhaps the coward merely desserted.” 15 November--British Ministry of Magic declares war on Germany. Britain starts funnelling supplies and manpower into France. |

January--☄ ☀ Gellert Grindelwald enlists aid of giants in fighting the British in France. Despite perhaps an obvious opening, he refuses to set foot on British soil. The same cannot be said for some of his covert operations troups. April--British Ministry of Magic places obliviators in several British military troups on front lines. Further, places dispatchers within several British communications bases. March--Magical journals invented. May--☀ Muggleborns in German occupied territories stripped of their wands. Possession of a wand by a muggleborn becomes a capital offense. June--☀ Muggleborns and halfbreeds banned from Beauxbatons under German superveillance 11 November--☀ Nuremgard opens in Poland. Muggleborns guilty of stealing magic, as well as ‘dangerous” halfbreeds, and enemies of the state are sent to this camp. Initially muggleborns from conquered territories are preferentially moved here in an attempt to squash resistance movements. March--☀ Nurmegard Prison is full. Extermination of prisoners begin. 15 May--Albus Dumbledore receives a personal communication from Gellert Grindelwald, equal parts invitation to join him and challenge for Dumbledore to defeat him. |
